Jeevan’s Journey from a Small Village to the United Nations

Jeevan, a 14-year-old Environment Minister in the Children’s Parliament, has been an active member of the CRM group within TNDWWT for the past seven years. Throughout this time, he has shown exceptional dedication to addressing environmental issues and advocating for children’s rights. TNDWWT’s focus on motivation and skill training has provided him with the confidence and opportunities to grow as a young leader. His journey reached a remarkable milestone when Gnanasekar Dhanapal, the Global Director of the Children’s Parliament Network, encouraged children to participate in the Airtalk program—an international platform for sharing ideas and experiences. Applications were submitted for all the children, highlighting their unique talents, and the entire community was thrilled when Jeevan was selected to represent them at the United Nations in September 2024. This recognition is not only an honor for Jeevan but also for the community that has supported his journey. Gnanasekar, who often reminds children that being from a small village does not limit their dreams, has arranged a special shoot for Jeevan during his flight from Chennai to Bangalore to capture his inspiring story. Jeevan’s success is a powerful example of how determination and commitment can lead to great achievements. His representation at the United Nations will not only showcase his dedication to the environment and children’s rights but will also inspire countless other children to believe in themselves and work towards creating positive change in their communities.
