Background of the Case:
Mr. Thomas Anthonymuthu, a construction worker, migrated to Malaysia on a visit visa through fraudulent recruiting agents. Unfortunately, he passed away at a hospital in Malaysia due to illness. The family of the deceased Indian migrant worker faced a distressing situation as they had not received any authentic documents explaining the cause of his death. They sought legal assistance to facilitate the transportation of Mr. Thomas Anthonymuthu's mortal remains to India.
Actions Taken:
The Tamil Nadu Domestic Workers Welfare Trust (TNDWWT) swiftly responded to the distressing circumstances faced by Mr. Thomas Anthonymuthu's family. Legal assistance was provided by preparing and submitting petitions to numerous authorities, including the Union Minister for External Affairs, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and the High Commission of India in Malaysia. TNDWWT also assisted in drafting and registering grievances through various channels, such as MADAD Grievance ID and the Mudhalvarin Mugavari Department in Tamil Nadu.
